LOTUS HOUSE
Since 2006, Lotus House has sheltered over 11,000 women and children experiencing homelessness, making it the largest women’s homeless shelter in the country. Annually, Lotus House provides sanctuary and support to more than 1,550 women, youth, and children.
Lotus House offers more than just a meal, bed, and shower; it provides life-changing, trauma-informed wraparound services designed to help individuals heal, learn, grow, and thrive. These services include:
- Child and family therapy, parenting classes, and resource coordination
- Access to medical and mental healthcare
- Educational support, including after-school tutoring, homework help, and GED classes
- Employment training, workshops, and job readiness programs
- Arts, activities, and other enrichment opportunities
- Housing support and move-out assistance
Lotus House is setting a national standard for best practices and innovation in comprehensive, multi-faceted programming and support services. Together, they help women, youth, and children emerge from the shadows, give voice to their dreams, and build the foundation for safer, healthier, and brighter futures.
